A journey of wisdom

A young man looks up to the sky, the overbearing glare, overwhelms the senses. Dazed and confused, he stumbles to his feet. "I must make this journey for I will acquire the knowledge I need to sustain and be happy; only the wiseman can give me this ever so precious wisdom.

He starts to climb, the incline etches away at his muscles like the wake on a beach. "i cant make it, its too much, i cant!" he falls to his knees seemingly defeated, suddenly a flash and he remembers all the times in his life where fear controlled him, thwarted his true potential. "no" "no" I wont let fear control my life. I must continue on, for this is a journey of realization and acquiring knowledge. He comes to a wall of rock, cracked, punctured, this wall tells many tales, all in the eye of the beholder. He starts to climb, rung by rung each harder to pull up then the next, beads of sweat drop from his brow, "when will this end" "when will this end?" he looks down at the earth, everything is so small and meaningless from way up here. He pulls himself up to the ledge, exhausted he falls to his back and closes his eyes, too exhausted to move.

Suddenly he hears a shuffle, looking up, a man, far older them himself , hanging directly over him. "get up my child, for u had made it to me." "then what is the way wizard? what must i do to be happy? "dont give up" he replied "many have travelled the road u travel but very few finish, u must finish, dont give up and all is well will come your way!" the old man peers up. "You must continue on for your journey is not over yet." "what! all u give me is don't give up, and now u want me to keep ascending to the top of this mountian!" "of course with my knowledge i have passed to u i woud think it would be easy!" laughing, the man replies u know ive come too far! i wont give up" "thats the spirit, young one go forward, remember, it does not matter how long u take, as long as u get there."

The man continues the climb, each rock seemingly farther away then the next. His body aching, his mind famished, he sees the tip of the mountain. Like the gates of of heaven it seems to overwhem him with joy and happiness, "the end" "the end". As he moves, he sees a man in the distance, "surely this must be the true wise man, not that imposter below, a trick to prevent me from acquiring the knowledge i need!" then the man comes into plain view. "What? the same man, surely it csnnot be him" this journey has shattered my senses, surely there is no possible way this man could have beaten me here. i look him in the face and he smiles. " u did it! u passed the test!, like i said, many have travelled this road, yet few have passed for they do not take my advice to heart!, don't give up, don't let fear control u, for it is one enemy u will never shake, it will always fight you, gnaw away at your mind, but if you stand above it, dont give up, happiness will overtake your life, you will do things you never thought u would do, you will accomplish things you always thought of, but doubted. surely you will become master of yourself and your own domain!" the man finally understands but "how did u beat me up here?" "that my child is something u learn over time, wisdom!, i took a shortcut of course!" the man just smiles and nods. "So how do u get down?" "look behind u" the man looks down and he sees a vast ocean! "surely u dont expect me to dive?" "of course i do!" with your knowledge you acquired this should not be a problem!" with one wink of his eye the man jumps into the abyss, but not with fear, but excitement, for the world has opened up before him like the vast blue ocean he dives into below.
